A 15-year-old boy has been charged, after a 17 and a 14-year-old boy were violently assaulted.
On Monday 15 February 2016, around 5.45pm, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) was called to reports of an assault that had left a child unconscious, on Denmark Street in Chadderton.
Officers attended and found that a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy had been badly beaten. It is not believed any weapons were used.
Ambulances arrived and the boys were taken to hospital where the condition of the 17-year-old is still described as critical. The 14-year-old boy was found unconscious at the scene but was treated for minor injuries in hospital.
The 15-year-old has been charged with a Section 18 assault on the 17-year-old boy, and an attempted Section 18 assault on the 14-year-old.
Police are still searching for a second male in connection with the assault.
The description of the male is that he was Bengali, had a full beard, and was wearing a black parka style coat with a round white badge on the arm, with the hood up. He was also seen carrying a white football.
