16 y/o girl assaulted in Chorlton

 

 

 

Police have released CCTV footage of a man they wish to speak to after a 16-year-old was attacked in Chorlton.

At about 7.40am on Thursday 31 March 2016 the girl was on her paper round on Meadowbank in Chorltonville, when a man attacked her from behind.

He punched her and threw her to the floor however she fought back and the perpetrator fled towards Brookburn Road. Local residents heard her shouts and came to her aid.

The man is described as a 5ft 7in tall black man of slim build aged between 16 and 22. He was wearing a black coat with a hood up, black jeans and black trainers.

DC David Kirk of the South Manchester division has stated, “This was a viscous and totally unprovoked assault and it is just fortunate that the girl was not seriously injured. To attack an innocent girl is despicable and we have released CCTV in a bid to identify the man”.
