A man has been stabbed to death on a Manchester street.

It is believed the 21-year-old victim was knifed in the neck in Crondall Street, Moss Side.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) was called to the street, just of Claremont Road, at about 12.10pm on Tuesday 22 March 2016, to reports that a man had been stabbed.

Emergency services attended and discovered that a man had suffered stab wounds.

He was taken to hospital but he sadly died from his injuries.

Formal identification has not yet taken place.

Forensic officers were among a huge police presence at the scene.

The death comes just hours after a man died when he suffered stab wounds in an attack in Gorton. Kyle Hands died in hospital after being found by emergency services in Williams Street at about 9.15pm last night.

GMP has launched a murder investigation and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident. Crondall Street is expected to be closed through the night into tomorrow.

An on-looker whose curiosity made her go towards the victim to see if she could help him, before the paramedics arrived told TNT, “There was no pulse on him so I just kept doing the compressions until the paramedics came. When he [one of the paramedics] tried to do something, blood started pouring out of his [the victim’s] throat. I felt the pulse in his neck”.

When asked if she knew the victim, she replied, “No, just that he is a Somali guy, he is just a young guy. I feel so…[she sobs]…it’s terrible to see something like that”.

GMP’s Superintendent Dave Pester said:

“First and foremost our thoughts go out to the family and friends of this man. People will understandably be alarmed when they hear about this incident, but our priority is to establish the motivation behind the attack.

I would like to assure the public that we have an increased level of police officers in the area tonight whilst we establish the full circumstances of the incident and identify those responsible.
