The Rugby World Cup continued over the weekend with all of the home nations in action. England were beaten by Wales by just 3 three points in a pulsating match at Twickenham. England were ahead for almost the entire match before a late try from Gareth Davies and a 74th minute penalty from Dan Biggar took Wales in to a winning position. Ireland demolished Romania 44-10 in their second group stage game whilst Scotland produced a sparkling performance whilst defeating The United States 39 points to 16.
Manchester United are sitting at the top of the Premier League table for the first time in two years, following their 3-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday. Manchester City’s season need reinvigorating after they were condemned to their second consecutive Premier League defeat. City have dropped to 2nd in the table after losing 4-1 to Tottenham Hotspur.
Golfer and American Jordan Spieth shot 69 in his final round to win the Tour Championship in Atlanta. Spieth also secured the FedEx Cup after his Tournament win in Atlanta. The 22-year-old’s victories mean that he is now ranked as no.1 in the world after overtaking Australian Jason Day in the rankings.
Lewis Hamilton claimed his 8th victory in just 14 races on Sunday as he edged ever closer to lifting the Drivers Championship for the third time. Hamilton has a 48-point lead over his Mercedes AMG teammate Nico Rosberg with just 5 Grand Prix’s remaining in the season.
