Adele has warned next time sound technicians mess up a live set she will stop and start again after a blunder at the Grammys reduced her to tears.
The singer was “embarrassed” after her performance of All I Ask was ruined by sound problems.
The British star told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, “I cried pretty much all day. I kept spontaneously bursting into tears”.
The 25-year-old added, “Next time I’ll be like, ‘Sorry that’s not working for me. If we have time to do it again, let’s do it, otherwise, bye!”
Whilst her blockbuster, record-breaking latest album 25 was released too late to be considered for Monday 15 February’s telecast, Adele was nonetheless among the evening’s most anticipated acts.
“Sound check was great, it went really well. I was really excited. And then during the changeover, the microphones fell onto the piano strings which is what the guitar noise was”, she told talk show host Ellen in an interview recorded earlier this week .
“I heard it straight away. And I wanted to turn – I knew what it was because in rehearsal on Saturday they were like ‘We’re going to double mic the piano just in case one doesn’t work.’ And I knew where the mic was and I wanted to turn around and lift it up, but I froze”.
