An annual survey by Transparency International called ‘The People and Corruption African Survey 2015’, found that business executives are the most corrupt group in Africa.
Transparency interviewed over 43, 000 people in 28 states in sub-Saharan Africa, estimating that 75 million have paid a bribe.
The anti-corruption watchdog claimed that many executives abuse their power; resulting in increased poverty as a result of hard-hitting bribes.
The report also revealed that 1 in 10 people who paid a bribe, would not report it as they believed the issue would not be dealt with, or the consequences would be far worse.
