Akua Naru, the internationally acclaimed hip-hop artist is set to perform in Manchester this May.
Born and raised in New Haven in America, she has toured the world. She currently resides and makes music in Cologne, Germany.
38-year-old Akua Nura – real name Latanya Hinton – is most known for her smooth and soulful sounds. Songs such as ‘Poetry: how does it feel?’, ‘Runaway’ and ‘Take a Ride’ are some of her best. ‘Nag Champa’ is also a hit that proved popular amongst fans.
In 2011, she released her debut album, ‘The Journey Aflame’. In her songs she deals with the power every human being yields.
Akua Naru hits Manchester on Thursday 18 May; returning to Band on the Wall. The event will start at 7pm and last until approximately 11pm.
Attendees will also hear the likes of Jalen N’Gonda, a support act for Naru’s show.
