International star Alicia Keys has said she will be “honoured” to debut new music from her upcoming album when she performs at next month’s UEFA Champions League final in Milan.
Keys will become the first singer to perform at the final, to be held at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Saturday 28 May, which will be broadcast to an estimated 180 million people in 220 countries.
“I’m extremely excited to share my new music at the UEFA Champions League final, an event that is celebrated in every corner of the world,” said Keys.
“This is going to be a powerful moment in history and one that represents the spirit of all the similarities we share no matter where we live and who we are.
“I’m honoured to be a special part of such a beloved experience.”
The performance comes ahead of Key’s sixth album release, the first since 2012’s Girl on Fire, and soon after she announced her inclusion as a judge on American reality show The Voice.
