Developer Nikal has been granted detailed planning permission for Phase One of Altair – Altrincham town centre’s new and dynamic £70m residential and leisure quarter.
Construction on the 4.5 acre Altair development will begin this summer, and the first phase is likely to be completed by December 2017.
Eric Wright construction, who are the main contractor in the development, are set to commence site clearance work in order to make way for the construction of an iconic contemporary style building that will house 59 high quality apartments as well as ground floor retail leisure units.
The apartments will be delivered by Nikal’s award winning luxury homebuilding company Hillcrest Homes, and will comprise 36 one bedroom and 23 two bedroom apartments designed by established Manchester architects Stephenson Studio.
Each of the apartments will provide statement interiors and an exemplary standard of specification with German designer kitchens, integrated ‘A’ grade appliances and bathrooms/en-suites produced by Villeroy and Boch. Residents will also be able to enjoy private balconies as well as access to a stylish communal roof terrace completed by The Roof Clinic, with vast views.
Phase One plans also involve a grand new entrance for Altrincham Ice Rink and a new landscaped area with space for outside seating and pavement cafés. Apartments will be released for off plan sales in the summer. Visit their homepage to find out more about their offers.
Later this year Nikal will submit plans for further stages of construction, which will ultimately aid in providing more high quality homes alongside contemporary retail spaces suitable for new restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and Grade A office accommodation.
The finished product will be a vibrant and vivid new destination for living, leisure, pleasure and business in the heart of Altrincham town centre. Altair will be linked to the tram, train and bus Transport Interchange via a new public bridge, consequently making it easily accessible to those travelling to or from the Greater Manchester and Trafford areas.
