On Friday 21 April 2016 three men broke into an address on Slade Grove in Longsight at about 9.45pm. They threatened the occupants, a 43-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman, with a knife, demanding cash and gold. The woman screamed, which prompted the offenders to flee on foot towards Beresford Road.
The male victim suffered injuries to his back when he fell during the incident.
One of the offenders has been described as white, aged around 18, 6ft tall, and of skinny build. He was clean-shaven, had a long face and spoke with a Manchester accent. He was wearing a black hooded top and was carrying a black bag.
The other men were reportedly wearing dark clothing and face masks.
Detective Inspector Nicholas Haigh of GMP’s South Manchester division said: “This was a violent and unprovoked attack on the occupants of the house, which has left them in shock.
“This is a serious incident but we believe it is an isolated one. Additional police patrols are in the area to offer reassurance to the community.”
