A third person has been arrested following a stabbing in Manchester city centre.
Shortly after 3.30pm on Saturday 25 November police received a call that a man had been assaulted in Piccadilly Gardens.
On arrival it was established a 32-year-old man had been repeatedly stabbed and received multiple serious stab injuries.
He was treated in hospital for his injuries and has since been discharged.
Previously, a 24-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to wound with intent and was released under investigation.
A 40-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of assault and currently remains in custody for questioning.
On Monday 27 November 2017 a 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault.
Detective Inspector Machent said: “A third person remains in custody for questioning. I must stress that our investigation does not stop here.
