Arrest made in Urmston murder

Police investigating the murder of a man in Urmston have made an arrest.

An 18 year-old man from the Trafford area was arrested on bank Holiday Monday on suspicion of the murder of Andre Marshall.

On Wednesday 20 May Marshall, 29, was found at around 7.30am lying in the road next to a car.

Police were called to the scene at Manor Park, Urmston, where they saw Mr. Marshall had suffered gunshot wounds to his torso and leg. A post mortem examination confirmed his injuries were the cause of death.

Chief Superintendent Mary Doyle said on Tuesday morning, “Last night, the team investigating Andre’s murder made an arrest and today detectives will be questioning this individual.

“We will keep the community updated on the progress of this investigation and are still appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information, no matter how small, to please come forward and speak to us as soon as possible.”
