Boy Blue Entertainment, the Olivier award-winning dance company, is set to present a brand new hip hop triple bill at Manchester’s HOME.
‘Blak Whyte Gray’ will run from 9-11 February. The compelling dance production will make its Northern premiere following its showcase at The Barbican, London.
Choreographed and directed Kenrick Sandy and Michael Asante, ‘Blak Whyte Gray’ pairs hip hop dance with the grooves Africa. With an unexpected abstract quality, the triple dance bill reveals a different side to the company’s personality.
Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante said: “Our work has always responded in some way to the issues that young people face today. This is the first time we express these thoughts artistically on such a large scale. It feels like an important time to be talking about these things: Black Lives Matter; the socio-political climate post-referendum; inequality in our society and the role of social media”.
