Bolton man arrested on suspicion of rape

A man has been arrested and police are on the hunt for two others on suspicion of the rape of a woman in Bolton.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) arrested a 35-year-old man late last night in connection with the incident, which took place at St Peters Way, Bolton on the night of 2 April 2016.

The 29-year-old victim was found lying in the middle of the road and reported that she had been raped and assaulted by two men.

Detective Inspector Damian Simpson from GMP’s Serious Sexual Offences Unit said: “Last night, we arrested a man in connection with this investigation and he will be questioned by detectives today.

“I would like to thank the public for their support following our appeal yesterday and as our enquiries continue, we have issued still images of two other men we would like to speak to in connection with this incident.
