CCTV images have been released by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) to help with the investigation into a city centre fight.
The altercation was first instigated on 16 October on the dance floor of a club on Whitworth Street West onto Oxford Street. Two men had a disagreement with a group of four men at around 3:30am, which wasn’t physical at this stage.
Later in the night when the men left the club, they came across the same group again. This resulted in a fight during which the two men were punched and kicked in the head.
Both of the victims had to be treated at hospital but one – who had been left unconscious – had much worse injuries. He was left with a fractured skull, a cut to the back of the head, a broken nose, and bruising and swelling to both eyes.
Detective Constable Michael Burns, of GMP’s City of Manchester Team has made an appeal for anyone with any information to come forward.
“If you recognise any of the men, I would urge you contact us and, equally, if you are one of the men in the photos, please come forward.
“In addition, I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the fight in the street to please get in touch with us”.
GMP can be contacted on 101 with the reference number 464 of 16/10/16, or Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
