A man has died following a stabbing on Ash Street in Cheadle Heath. Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers were called shortly before 9pm on Saturday 24 October 2015 to reports of a disturbance on the street in Stockport.
The victim described as a 45-year-old man, was discovered with stab wounds before being taken to hospital. He sadly died a short time later.
GMP has arrested a 48-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man on suspicion of murder and both remain in police custody for questioning.
In the meantime, a post mortem is due to take place but police are still appealing for information and witnesses.
“At this stage we are working to establish the full circumstances that led to this man sadly losing his life. We know there was an altercation that took place in the street so we would ask if anyone saw the disturbance or has any information that may help with our investigation that they contact police and tell us what they know”, Detective Superintendent Joanne Rawlinson said.
“We appreciate the community will be concerned so I want to reassure them that this is an isolated incident and there is no wider threat to the community”.
“We have cordoned off the street while we carry out our investigations and we will have an increased police presence in the area over the coming days. We would urge anyone with information or any concerns to speak to us”.
