R&B artist Chris Brown has been accused of punching a woman who took a photo of him in a Las Vegas hotel. Police are investigating an allegation of battery against the 26-year-old after receiving a call on Saturday morning regarding the alleged attack at the Palms Casino Resort, but he denies any wrongdoing.
The woman, who is believed to be a Brazilian model, told police that the Grammy winner struck her before taking her mobile phone. Detectives attempted to speak to Brown at his hotel room, although the singer left before the police’s arrival. Investigators have said that the singer has been listed as a suspect for misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor theft in the case. Nicole Perna, who is a publicist for Chris Brown, issued a statement on Saturday evening calling the charges “unequivocally untrue”.
Ms. Perna also added that the alleged victim was “escorted out of the private party at the Palms Casino Resort for being disruptive and out of control” after Brown performed on Friday at Drai’s nightclub, where he appears regularly. In 2009 Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault in a case involving his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna.
