An investigation has been launched after a man was taken to hospital with stab wounds in the neck at the weekend.
Police believe the victim was involved in a disturbance including approximately ten men on Charles Street, in the city centre, at around 3:30am on Saturday 4 June.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Worthington of City of Manchester team said: “We believe fighting broke out between a group of men a short time before the victim was taken to hospital.
“As this happened in the city centre there may have been a number of people around, perhaps going home after a night out, and I would urge them to please come forward and contact police if they saw what happened”.
The victim was reported to be in a stable condition earlier this week, and the investigation is ongoing.
