Cycling collision kills man in Manchester

A 44-year-old man, identified as Jason Lee Gibbs, has passed away following a collision with an unknown vehicle, whilst he cycled home on Friday 22 July.

Jason collided with the vehicle at some point on his journey from his place of work in Gorton and his home in Moss Side. This is said to be between 1.10pm and 1.50pm.

Immediately after the accident, the cyclist returned to his bike and continued his journey home.

Later that day, he was unfortunately taken to hospital, following a cardiac arrest, and passed away on the morning of Sunday 24 July.

More specific details are needed and so the Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has reached out to any witnesses of the incident.

Police Constable Neil Pennington has stated, “It may not have appeared serious at the time, but a man has died, and any information you have, no matter how small, could help us piece together what happened”.

Jason’s bike was a blue Kona ‘Fire Mountain’ bicycle and he was wearing a blue helmet.
