WBC heavyweight title holder Deontay Wilder will be flying over to the UK this March. Wilder is coming to watch Anthony Joshua vs. Joseph Parker in person, as part of the Sky Sports commentating team.
While he will be providing some colourful commentary for the bout, he anticipates making a spectacle. He has vowed to confront Joshua in the ring to demand a huge heavyweight showdown.
“I will get in the ring and go face to face with him,” Wilder exclusively told Sky Sports.
“It typifies the show as well, because people want to know what’s going to happen next. I am an unpredictable person, I do what people don’t expect me to do but I do things when it’s the right time for me to do them. You’ll see.”
Wilder still believes Parker has a chance to win this fight. However, he is hoping for Joshua to win as it would create a bigger fight that’s hotly anticipated by fans.
Wilder has held the WBC heavyweight belt since 2015.
Joshua will put his WBA and IBF titles on the line against Parker. The Kiwi has held the WBO version of the title since December 2016, on 31 March.
Wilder is scheduled to fight unbeaten Cuban Luis Ortiz on March 3 in New York City.
