The new drop, his first in 16 years, was inspired by the biopic about his group N.W.A.
Hip hop producer and rapper Dr. Dre is to release his first album in 16 years.
The 50 year-old told how he was inspired by the soon to be released Straight Outta Compton-a film about the rise of 80s hip hop group N.W.A of which Dre was a part, alongside Ice Cube, Eazy E, DJ Yella and Arabian Prince and MC Ren who left and joined the group at different times respectively.
Compton: A Soundtrack will apparently be Dre’s ‘grand finale’ and features the likes of Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Kendrick Lamar.
Dre hasn’t released any new material since 1999’s 2001. This latest record even has a release date of 7 August, unlike the ill-fated Detox album that Dr. Dre often spoke of but never released.
