Drake’s jewellery heist

The ‘Hotline Bling’ singer, Drake, had a little less bling than he expected after an alleged $3m [£2.25m] worth of jewellery was stolen from his tour bus.

The million dollar robbery took place whilst Drake was performing with fellow rapper, DJ Future the Prince, at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix on Tuesday 6 September.

The culprit, 21-year-old Travion King, has since been arrested following the trespassing of a student dorm room at Arizona State University.

When searched, authorities seized a suitcase containing the other stolen items of Drake, and DJ Future the Prince’s jewellery. According to reports, King also wore some of the stolen items during his trespassing of the University campus.

As an employee for the ISS Facility Services cleaning company, which specializes in large venues like the Talking Stick Arena, King was well aquatinted with the tour venue where Drake performed.

According to sources, King made his way to the bus and found that the doors were unlocked. He then convinced the driver to let him in claiming to be part of the hip-hop artists’ entourage. Within a fifteen minute window, a briefcase full of jewellery was stolen.

King will appear at Maricopa County Superior Court on 21 September on third degree burglary and theft charges.
