Actor Eddie Murphy is back on the entertainment scene, starring in a new movie that is set to premiere on 16 September in the US.
The film, ‘Mr Church’, is a drama that tells a story of family and friendship, a more serious tone than Murphy’s usual roles.
He plays a character that becomes a cook for a young girl and her dying mother.
Speaking about the role Murphy has said, “I usually do comedies trying to be funny, I’ve never been offered anything that was, that had this type of emotional stuff going on, this subject matter”.
There’s a lot going on in the actor’s life at the moment, with the birth of his ninth child just a few months ago.
Even after 8 previous children though, he doesn’t have every aspect of paternal life mastered. In a recent interview he said, “I don’t change diapers”, going onto explain that he feels it would be unfair to the child, since he would be bad at it.
The ongoing rumours of another fix of Beverley Hills Cop coming to cinema screens would only make Eddie’s life busier right now.
Fortunately though (or unfortunately for the Beverley Hills Cop fans out there), he has confirmed that he doesn’t think it’s the right time for the next film right now.
He explained, “I don’t want to do it unless it’s right”.
