An up- and- coming rapper died from gunshot wounds in the early hours of Sunday in New York.
Chinx, real name Lionel Pickens, was one of two victims found hurt in a car at around 4am. He was pronounced dead as he arrived at Jamaica Medical Center.
The 31 year-old was becoming increasingly recognised as a credible recording artist and was working on his debut solo album. Rapping since he was a child, he was known for having worked with French Montana and was mentioned in XXL Magazine as the next big thing in hip hop.
His wife Janelli, friends and fellow artists such as Khloe Kardashian and Diddy paid tribute via Instagram.
