Facebook founder plans use of artificial intelligence

Mark Zuckerberg has revealed that he plans to build artificial intelligence, in order to assist him around the house and at work. In a post on Facebook he announced that his personal challenge for this year would be to build a “simple AI”, which is likely to be similar to butler Jarvis from ‘Iron Man’.

Zuckerberg plans to teach his AI Butler with technology that will allow it to recognise his voice, this will subsequently him to enable the assistant to control everything within his home, such as the lighting, the temperature and even who enters.

Zuckerberg has remarked “This should be a fun intellectual challenge to fund this by myself. I’ll teach it to let friends in by looking at their faces when they ring the doorbell”.

His previous personal challenges have included learning Mandarin, meeting a new person every day and reading two books a month. Zuckerberg’s Facebook is also undergoing a series of AI initiatives, most recently the social media site has announced that users will be able to utilise an assistant through its messenger app.
