According to Greater Manchester Police, a former social worker from Rochdale has been charged with sexual offences.
James Peter Gavin, 70, has been charged with 13 counts of indecent assault. The charges come as a result on offences made against a boy under 14 and one attempt account of attempted buggery of a boy under the age of 16.
Between 1970 and 1978 a boy was sexually assaulted in the Rochdale area, including an incident at Foxhole Children’s home.
The 70-year-old man will appear at Bury and Rochdale Magistrates’ Court later this month on 9 February.
