Further arrests made over recent shootings in Manchester

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has made a further two arrests in connection with recent shootings and firearms offences in Manchester.

On Sunday 10 January 2016, a 29-year-old man and a 32 year-old-man were arrested on suspicion of firearms offences in connection with an incident on Parrs Wood Road in Withington on Friday 8 January 2016.

The two men have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Also on bail, pending further enquiries, are the five men arrested last week.

A 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of attempt murder on Wednesday 5 January 2016, has been recalled to prison after breaching the terms of his license.

GMP – “Although we have made further arrests, our investigation continues and we remain as determined as ever to disrupt and prosecute those involved in the ongoing criminal dispute and to remove firearms and ammunition off the streets of Manchester.

“We have committed significant neighbourhood and specialist force resources to this operational activity, and I want this to be a message to those out there who know they have been behaving recklessly and putting innocent lives in danger”.
