‘Gifted Hands’ is the inspiring story about an inner-city kid who achieves poor grades and has little motivation, who at the age of 33 became director of pediatric neurosurgery at John Hopkins University Hospital.

‘Gifted Hands’ directly places the reader within the operating room to witness surgeries that made headlines all around the world. The book includes the sentimental moment of 1987 when Dr. Carson gained worldwide recognition for his part in the first successful separation of Siamese twins, which were joined at the back of the heads.

In 2008 President George W. Bush awarded Ben Carson the Presidential Medal of Freedom award. In 2013 he became a popular conservative figure for his views on political and social issues. The remarkable man is now opposing the likes of Donald Trump as he attempts to become the president of the Republican Party.
