Police are appealing for any witnesses who might have been present when a firearm was discharged in Cheetham Hill. At around 12.30am on the 6th of November an offender approached the rear of a house in Cheetham Hill and fired shots through the window of a first floor bedroom.
A 28-year-old man was treated at the scene of the incident for minor cuts to his hands although these injuries have not been linked to the discharge of the firearm. Detective Inspector Christopher Flint has stated “First and foremost I would like to try and reassure the public that this is believed to have been an isolated incident committed against a specific, targeted individual. I do not believe there to be a threat to the wider community”.
Mr. Flint also said “With that being said, this is obviously a serious crime which will undoubtedly raise concerns in the area and we are dedicating substantial resources to ensure those responsible are brought to justice. If you were in the area at the time of the attack, or saw anything suspicious in the early hours of the morning, please call police as a matter of urgency”.
