Monday night’s episode of ‘The Voice’ USA was the first episode of the show since panelists Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton revealed their romance. The two kept it professional all night with minimal flirting creeping in to their judging, however they did unite in order to tease fellow judge Adam Levine, the pair looked in sync as Shelton remarked “It’s fun to see Gwen whip the crap out of Adam tonight. It makes me so happy”.
The newly formed item divorced their respective spouses less than a month apart. Shelton divorced country songstress Miranda Lambert on the 20th of July, ending their four-year marriage. Moreover Stefani split with ‘Bush’ front man Gavin Rossdale in August, whilst citing irreconcilable differences. However just a few days after revealing her relationship with Shelton, Stefani claims that Rossdale’s affair with their nanny sparked their spilt, the former couple have three children together.
Rossdale is allegedly dubious over the timing of Stefani and Shelton’s blossoming relationship, as the English musician believes that the new couple both calculated the ending of their marriages so that they could be together. Rossdale reportedly believes that the two formed their relationship on the set of ‘The Voice’ directly before Stefani divorced him. He also believes that she kept it a secret, as she was afraid that the story would affect their financial settlement issues.
Kiis FM presenter Ryan Seacrest recently interviewed Stefani asking her questions about her latest single ‘Used To Love You’, which she wrote in the wake of her divorce from Gavin Rossdale. Stefani stated, “The song was not written that long ago. Everybody knows that my life blew up last February. I was going along thinking that was going to be the rest of my life and its not”.
A source close to the production team of ‘The Voice’ has suggested that Stefani and Shelton already have a contingency plan in place for their potential break-up. The source revealed “The studio bosses sat them down last week after they confirmed that they were dating to discuss the whole situation and what would happen in the event that they broke up. The executives even discussed adding a breakup clause to their contracts”.
