Egg-celent Easter Weekend fun
For the past 16 years, Hands on Hair (HOH), has been throwing what some may call ‘a children’s Easter party-in-the-park’. This Easter Sunday, HOH held its annual Easter Egg Hunt (EEH) at Alexandra Park, Whalley Range, like never before.
Following the growing success of the event in previous years, HOH decided to join forces with TNT for the fourth year running. As a result, the annual Easter Egg Hunt has become a community occasion for all the family.
Periodically alternating from sunshine to showers, volunteers scurried to help set-up tables with gifts and confectioneries before the parent and child registration began.
Prior to the gates opening at 12pm, eggs and sweet treats were hidden away amongst the bushes, flowers and trees. The children – over 150 on the day – had to essentially be like bunnies in the park – hunting for treats to munch on.
As the Egg hunting kicked off, parents cheered on their little ones, from toddlers to 6-16 year-olds. Face painting was available for all children, with games including. Not even the rainy spells could stop the partying spirit.
On the day there were many treats available, there were plenty of cakes, drinks and tombola.
Hands On Hair thanked its sponsors and all who helped make a success of the much loved Easter event. The headline sponsor for 2017 was MG Waste Management.
This year’s event had additional sponsors including, Osman Telecom, Paradise Mini Market and Carton Singh Bros. Link off License, Younis Cash & Carry, Ross Super Saver and Khan’s Newsagent Manchester City Council and the Friends of Alexandra Park also sponsored the event.
