The return of Black Entertainment Television’s hit drama series ‘Being Mary Jane’ is upon us as the third season of the show is set to begin on Tuesday the 20th of October. The season also comes with a new time slot as the drama will begin at 9.00pm instead of it’s usual billing of 10.00pm, the new season will also open with a two-hour premiere.
Season two signed off and left fans on the edge of their seats with Mary Jane Paul suffering a devastating car accident after learning that her best friend Dr. Lisa Hudson and her ex-boyfriend David Paulk had been intimate. Season three will also see Mary Jane face the task of trying to retain her job as prime time news reporter from her replacement.
42-year-old lead actress Gabrielle Union has tirelessly been promoting the forthcoming two-hour season premiere. Union was pictured leaving Huffpost Live and the AOL Studio in New York City where she was busy promoting the new season.
Stephen Bishop (David Paulk) has been discussing his role the third season, he stated, “We have to figure out what’s happening with Mary Jane, and David is clearly concerned with that. So, that’s where we start, what’s happened to Mary Jane? David feels that he’s caused the situation, and he’s trying to be at her side in the darkest hour”.
Actress Loretta Devine will join the season three cast and is going to play the woman who is struck by Mary Jane’s vehicle. Jill Scott is also a new addition to the cast and she will play Jackie, who is Niecy’s mother.
The producers of ‘Being Mary Jane’ have been conveying intimate hype about the new series through regular Twitter updates. For example one tweet remarked, “11 days until the season 3 premiere of @BeingMary Jane!! #BMJreturns”, excitement has also been perpetuated by the twitter site posting several still shots from scenes of the previous two seasons.
