‘I just need her home’: Mum’s desperate plea for missing girl

Fears are growing for a missing teenage girl who vanished almost a month ago.

15-year-old Leah Burns, went missing in early February and has not been seen or heard from since.

Her family are growing increasingly concerned for her welfare. Her mum Clara Burns has now made a desperate plea to trace the schoolgirl.

Clara urged anyone who may have seen her to come forward. She issued a new picture of Leah in the hope it may help track her down.

She told local media: “I just need her home.”

Leah was last seen at the Manchester Dental Hospital at about 1pm on Wednesday, February 7.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing for the public’s help to find the currently missing teenager who has links to the Stockport area.

Leah, who has two younger brothers, grew up in Stockport and Stretford but has links to a number of areas in Manchester, her family said.

She was last seen wearing a navy padded coat with fur trim on the hood and blue jeans. Her hair was tied up in a bun and was wearing heavy hooped earrings. Leah was also wearing a distinctive necklace, which has a blue Winnie the Pooh child’s dummy attached to it.

Clara said her daughter has stopped using social media. She was previously a keen user of Snapchat and Instagram.

Leah is described as 5ft 6in, white British, with green eyes and long brown hair which goes down to her hips.

Members of the public who have any sightings are being urged by the police to call 101 quoting the missing reference number: MP/14/0083595.
