Idris Elba’s new wife Sabrina Dhowre has described their wedding as “the best day of my life”.
The couple tied the knot in a ceremony at the Ksar Char-Bagh hotel in Marrakesh in Morocco on 26 April.
Writing on Instagram, she said: “The best day of my life, thank you to everyone who helped make it so special.”
She shared a string of photographs taken by British Vogue, in which she wore a custom gown by Vera Wang, while the Luther actor wore a bespoke suit by Ozwald Boateng.
Among the guests were Vogue editor Edward Enninful, who took to the drums at one point during the lavish party.
Videos shared by TV presenter Maya Jama on her Instagram story show Enninful on the dancefloor alongside Elba and Dhowre, who showed off their moves to Beyonce’s Love On Top and Vossi Bop by Jama’s boyfriend Stormzy.
Elba appears in the music video for the grime star’s new single.
The couple got engaged last February after Elba dropped to one knee during a screening of his film Yardie at the Rio Cinema in Dalston, east London.
Elba and Dhowre, a model and former Miss Vancouver, had reportedly been dating since early 2017.
The London-born actor was previously married to Hanne Norgaard and Sonya Hamlin.
He can be seen in a white T-shirt in the Instagram video, while Dhowre wears a different white dress.
Nigerian music superstar, Davido made a surprise and thrilling performance at the wedding too. Celebrations were spread over three days in Marrakesh.
Davido’s performance was arranged by Elba to surprise his wife, Sabrina who loves the songs of the Nigerian superstar. In a video posted on Twitter, Davido can be seen dancing with fashion designer Christian Louboutin. The pair are surrounded by guests who dance along and cheer them on as both show off the red soles at the bottom of their shoes.
Davido’s performance comes on the heels of Davido’s latest music collaborations with American rapper, Russ on ‘All I Want’; and Sean Kingston and Tory Lanez on ‘Peace of Mind’.
