An investigation has been launched after a woman was violently sexually assaulted in Trafford.
A woman in her 40s was walking through an alleyway when she was violently attacked and assaulted. The incident occurred at around 5.45pm on Monday 6 February 2017.
The alleyway – in which the attack occurred – is located near Trafford General Hospital, between Moorside Road and Davyhulme Road.
The victim was hit on the back of her head, causing her to fall to the ground. The attacker then pinned her down and held a knife to her throat before sexually assaulting her.
The attacker then fled the scene immediately after the assault took place. The attacker is described to be white, in his late 20s and around 6ft 2ins. He had light ginger or blonde eyebrows and spoke with a Mancunian accent.
He is believed to have been wearing a grey hooded top. The top was pulled tight around his face to his eyebrows and bottom lip. He was also wearing grey jogging bottoms that were a different shade to his top.
GMP’s John Stainton said: “This was a terrifying attack on an innocent woman”.
Specially trained officers are currently supporting the victim. GMP would like to “praise” her for her courage.
