After hearing Ann Sandemann’s inspirational story, ‘Location, Location, Location’ presenter – Kirstie Allsopp, surprised the single mum with a tea party.
Sandemann, who suffers with terminal cancer, was invited with her three children to an elaborate spread of tea, cakes and crafts – organised by Cancer Research UK – a charity that Sandemann works hard to support.
Kirstie lost her 66-year-old mother to cancer back in 2014 after a 26-year-long battle, so working with Cancer Research UK and fundraising is a cause close to home.
Ann, who is originally from Hastings, has been battling cancer since she was pregnant with her son Ben – who is now 8 years old.
“Her story is remarkable, as are the stories of many, many people. You don’t often come across people like Ann. She’s energetic, she’s inspirational, she’s got three kids – we’ve all been here chatting and colouring and talking, and they’re absolutely amazing, her kids.
“She has brought them up in the most amazing way, all the while having very invasive and exhausting treatments. And with a terminal diagnosis hanging over her head”, said Allsopp.
