Levenshulme smash and grab

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) are appealing for witnesses after a business owner was robbed of his takings by two men on a motorbike in Levenshulme.

The incident occurred on Stockport Road shortly after 9:30am on Saturday 26 March. The 38-year-old victim was driving to the bank with his business takings when he noticed he was being followed by two men on a motorbike.

As the victim approached the traffic lights at Heaton Road, the motorbike pulled alongside him and one of the assailants smashed the front passenger window of his car. Following a struggle, in which the victim sustained a broken hand, the men on the bike stole a bag containing a significant amount of money and made off in the direction of Albert Road.

The motorbike was red and bore stolen registration plates. The rider of the motorbike is described as a man about 5ft 6in tall, of medium build, and was wearing a high-vis jacket and a helmet with dark visor.

The passenger was around 6ft tall, of slim build, and was wearing dark clothing and a black helmet with a white pattern and dark visor.
