Liam Gallagher attacks Noel for absence at Manchester gig

Liam ‘looks back in anger’ at Noel for One Love Manchester no-show

Liam Gallagher has attacked brother Noel for not turning up to perform in Ariana Grande’s One Love Manchester concert on 4 June.

The concert, also attended by stars Chris Martin and Katy Perry was for the victims of the Manchester terror attack.

Apologising for his brother’s absence, he called him a ‘sad f***’. Liam lashed out at Noel for not jumping on a plane like every other artist did and flying back to the UK to perform.

Venting his anger on Twitter, Liam wrote: ‘Manchester I’d like to apologise for my brother’s absence last night very disappointed stay beautiful stay safe LG X.’

He then tweeted again saying: ‘Noels out of the fucking country weren’t we all love get on a fucking plane and play your tunes for the kids you sad f***’.

When replying to a fan who asked about an Oasis reunion, he said that Noel had chosen to show his ‘true colours’.

‘…it ain’t about oasis it’s about people helping other people and he’s once again shown his true f*****g colours’.

The furious rant came after Liam made a surprise appearance at the concert. He joined forces with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin for a rendition of Oasis’ Live Forever.

Before the concert, fans had talked up the chance of an Oasis reunion after Liam sent his brother a sweet and surprising tweet to mark his 50th birthday.

But after this morning’s tweets, we’re not quite so sure…

In a statement released last week, a spokesperson for Noel confirmed that he wouldn’t be able to attend due to a ‘longstanding family trip’.

A spokesperson for Noel Gallagher said: ‘Sadly, Noel will not be at the concert this weekend.

‘He’s been out of the country on a longstanding family trip since before the concert was announced and is unable to attend.

‘Needless to say, he is very supportive of the event and wishes everyone huge success on the day.’
