Gallagher bothers ‘Don’t look back in anger’ anymore
Liam Gallagher and brother Noel appear to have buried the hatchet in their bitter feud.
After Liam sent a warm birthday message to Noel, fans have been crossing their fingers about a gig Liam is playing tonight in Manchester to raise funds for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund.
Liam’s shock gesture came just hours before his first-ever solo gig at the O2 Ritz in Manchester on 30 May. All proceeds from the show are going to the victims of the Manchester Arena terror attack.
He and his brother have locked horns ever since Oasis acrimoniously split in 2009. However, on 29 May, Liam has relented with his usual potato jibes to wish his brother a happy birthday.
“Happy 50th rkid, stay young LG x,” he wrote.
44-year-old Liam recently went nuclear when he failed to get an invitation to Noel’s cocaine-themed party.
However, he still offered an olive branch to Noel with his warm wishes. Noel didn’t reply but posted a picture of himself with a glass of champagne captioned, ‘Happy 50th Birthday Noel!’
Liam’s gesture left fans speculating the Twitter love-in would be the perfect moment for the band to reunite.
One fan tweeted: ‘Reunite for a charity gig for Manchester seeing as you’re in a nice kinda mood.’
Another wanted Noel to Be Here Now, adding, ‘Is this the beginning of Oasis again?’
Both bothers have been vocal about their despair over the terror attack, with Liam vowing: ‘I want to try and help pick people up.’
As for Noel, he’ll first need to shake off the Cigarettes & Alcohol from his £20,000 bash at Aynhoe Park in Oxfordshire, at the weekend.
Guests at the birthday party, organised by Noel’s wife Sara MacDonald, included Bono and Madonna.
