Lupita Nyong’o will not be starring in the next James Bond film.
Despite rumours that the Black Panther star would be appearing in the 25th James Bond film alongside Daniel Craig , it has now been revealed that this will not be the case.
Speaking to Deadline , the team for Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o revealed that she would not be involved in the film, despite initial reports.
The news comes after it was revealed that Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody star Rami Malek was in final talks to play the villain in Bond 25, which has a working title of Shatterhand.
Little plot details are known about the film but the working title has led to some thoughts over what happens in the film.
Daniel Craig will portray 007 for one final time in the film, where he will appear alongside SPECTRE leading lady Lea Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann, who was last seen driving off with Craig’s retired Bond at the end of the last film.
Also set to return is Ben Whishaw as Q, Naomie Harris as Eve Moneypenny, and Ralph Fiennes as Gareth “M” Mallory.
This will be Craig’s fifth film in the franchise, having played the role in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and SPECTRE.
N’yongo wil likely appear in the sequel to Black Panther, however, along with her role as space pirate Maz Kanata in Star Wars: Episode IX.
She can also be seen in Jordan Peele’s upcoming horror film, Us.
