A man has been arrested after the death of a man in Cheetham Hill.

At around 1.25pm on Sunday 21 February police were called to a house in Cheetham Hill, by paramedics, following reports that a man had been stabbed.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court on Tuesday 23 February.

Detective Superintendent Phil Reade, from GMP’s Major Incident Team, has stated “The investigation into this man’s death is at an early stage, but we are doing all we can to support devastated family members at this very tragic time and a man has been taken into custody for questioning”.

He also went on to add “We will try to update the public when we can with any further details, but this appears to be an isolated incident and there is not believed to be any threat to the wider community. If anyone knows, saw or heard anything that they think might assist police with their enquiries, I would ask them to please go and speak with these officers”.
