A young wheelchair football enthusiast from Oldham, is now the manager and coach role for Manchester City Wheelchair Football team. Nathan Taylor, who is currently a student at New Bridge School, has spent the last four years playing for his school team – The Oldham Wheelies – and after devoting 100 hours of his time to the Manchester City club, he has been awarded his new role.
Last year, Nathan helped his team win the North West Cup using power chairs. In the game, players use modified wheelchairs, and the game is played with a very large ball that is manoeuvred by the bumper at the front of the chair. Nathan has said that he is “enjoying the challenge” of being a Wheelchair Football coach.
