Man dies after Moss Side collision

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) has confirmed that a man has died after a collision in Moss Side.

On Thursday 25 May 2017, just before 2.40pm, police received a report of a collision. The crash was between a car and a scooter on Denmark Road, near to Upper Lloyd Street.

The man on the scooter sadly died at the scene.

Formal identification has not yet taken place.

Police Constable Phil Shaw, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, has released a statement.

“Our thoughts are with the man’s family at this distressing time”, he said.

“We are trying to understand exactly what happened in the moments leading up to the collision.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who might have seen the collision or the scooter or car, or has any information about this incident.

“This man’s family have just lost their loved one and are understandably devastated. We want to help them in any way we can and provide them with the answers they deserve”.

Police have urged any witness to contact GMP with any information they may have to help in the investigation.
