Man jailed for possession of Class A drugs – street value £3m

A man has been jailed after being caught possessing drugs with an estimated street value of £3m. 26-year-old Rezwan Hussain of Rochdale pleaded guilty of possessing Class A drugs with the intent to supply and was sentenced to 11 years and six months at Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday the 23rd of October.

On the 23rd of March of this year police made enquiries at Hussain’s house and discovered two large bags containing over £3m worth of cocaine, crack cocaine and heroin.

A nearby address was subsequently searched and further Class A drugs were found, along with approximately £216,000 in cash along with drugs paraphernalia. Although Hussain was not present at the time of the search he later handed himself in to the police. Detective Constable Craig Wallace of the Rochdale division stated “Officers were already in the area at the time which spooked Hussain. He threw the drugs out of the window but unfortunately for him, they landed close to our police van”.
