On Friday 22 April 2016, 24-year-old Louis Andrew Taylor of Blackley was sentenced at Manchester Crown Court to seven years and two months in prison for committing four armed robberies in four days.
Taylor carried out his first offence at 9.30am on Friday 18 September 2015, when he went into Ladbrokes on Oldham Road in Miles Platting and threatened the female member of staff with a knife, demanding she fill a bag with cash. He then fled with £400 in notes.
The following Monday at 7.30pm, he targeted William Hill Bookmaker’s on Middleton Road in Prestwich. Again, Taylor demanded money and threatened staff with a knife, but this time fled empty-handed.
Later that evening, at 8.15pm, he tried the same in Ladbrokes on Victoria Lane in Blackley, once again leaving with nothing.
Taylor then entered the Co-op store on Old Market Street in Blackley and, pointing a knife at the female member of staff, he forced her to fill a bag with cash and then fled.
He was arrested on Wednesday 7 October, having stolen £520 in total.
