‘Man shoots two bailiffs in USA yet no media coverage’

According to US reports, a man in USA shot dead two police officers in the Berrien County Courthouse, Michigan.

The killings which happened earlier this week involving two bailiffs who died, and two others who were injured, were carried out by Larry Darnell Gordon, WOOD TV reported.

A deputy was escorting Gordon from a holding cell to the courtroom, when Gordon overpowered the deputy, snatched his gun and started firing shots, the report says.

Bailiffs Joseph Zangaro and Ronald Kienzle were killed. James Atterberry Jr., a Berrien County deputy, was struck in the arm, and an unidentified woman was also injured. Gordon was shot and killed by another officer.

Gordon’s ex-wife, Jessica, said that she was shocked but had had a feeling that her ex was involved upon hearing the news.

The incident has sparked social media outrage at the manner in which the media has reported the story. Commentators cite that had the killer been black, the news coverage of the black man would have been across mainstream media channels. Likewise, if the killer was of middle-eastern descent or indeed a man of colour, the same former treatement would have been applied.

Media outlet, Occupy Democrats said, “This man killed 2 police officers in Michigan yesterday. Gee I wonder why the media has not plastered his face and name everywhere? If he were black, there would be 24-7 coverage”.

Amidst her shock, Jessica said, “He was an amazing man that got mixed up with the wrong people. He loved his children and me and his mother and sister with everything that he had,” Jessica Gordon told WOOD TV.

Jessica Gordon said she spoke to Larry Gordon hours before and had no inkling that he was planning any attack.

“I believe he was probably terrified of having to go to prison and not seeing his family again,” she added. “All he wanted to do was get home to our baby girl”.

Larry Gordon was facing two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, as well as charges of kidnapping, assault with a dangerous weapon and domestic violence.
