Greater Manchester Police has launched an investigation after a man was shot in Moss Side.
On Wednesday 30 December 2015, just before 8pm, a 22-year-old man was shot in the chest on Salisbury Street, at the junction of Broadfield Road.
The victim was taken to hospital where he is in a stable condition. GMP continues to carry out further enquiries, and is appealing for anyone in the area at the time, or anyone with information to come forward.
Detective Inspector Tony Lea of GMP’s South Manchester division said: “The investigation is in the early stages and we are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
“There will be extra patrols in the area to offer some reassurance to the community, and if anyone has any concerns, or information they wish to pass on to police, please get in touch as a matter of urgency”.
