Man stabbed as he walked home in Flixton

A man was stabbed as he walked home in Flixton.

The attack happened as the 23-year-old victim walked along Norfolk Gardens in Flixton at about 1:30am on Saturday 21 November 2015.

After being approached by a man, the victim was struck to his head and face with a sharp weapon, before the attacker ran off.

Local residents came to the aid of the victim, who was taken to hospital for treatment to lacerations to his head, one of which needed stitches.

Detectives in Stretford are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or who may know who is responsible for the attack, to come forward.

The attacker is described as a white man, skinny build and possibly in his late teens wearing dark clothing.

Detective Constable Tina Jackson said, “Understandably, this young man has been left extremely distressed by this random attack.

“I do not want people in the area to be unduly frightened as we believe this to be an isolated incident but nevertheless, it is important we let people know what happened so they can both be vigilant and help us find the person responsible, so we can arrest him as soon as possible”.
