Manchester Academy students hit all the right notes when performing in the world’s largest school choir.
A group of students took part in the ‘Young Voices’ concert. Students from across the country are selected to take part. Manchester Academy students made their performance on 2 February 2017.
The Academy chose its finest singers from Years 7 to 10 to perform at the event. The inspirational event was held at Manchester Arena.
The ‘Young Voices’ initiative combines the power of singing together as one. Singers are accompanied by a wide range of musicians and artists. As a result, an amazing performance is created.
At the Academy, students prepared for the concert by learning 14 pop medley songs. They also rehearsed dance routines. On the day students proudly displayed a self-designed school banner.
Manchester Academy’s principal Andy Griffin said performing at the Arena was an “incredible experience”.
It was an experience that students “will never forget”. Griffin said “they enjoyed it so much, they are now helping the academy to form its own choir!”.
