Manchester Arena will soon be the home of a brand-new indoor Go Kart track after planning permission was granted for the development last month.
TeamSport, the company behind 17 other tracks across the country, announced that they had successfully received permission to develop the basement of the Arena on 20 April.
TeamSport Karting’s Managaing Director, Dominic Gaynor, said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring the excitement of indoor karting right to the heart of Manchester in such a fantastic venue.”
The plans include a £550million multi-level track for up to 16 racers, including 15 corners, as well as bar, corporate facilities, and licensing for drivers as young as eight years old.
Gaynor added that: “TeamSport Karting is renowned for helping young drivers and young at heart drivers get their first taste on track with the comfort and knowledge of having all the right safety measures and equipment to support them.
“With a huge range of both competitive member races and non-member events to choose from, all at competitive prices, you never know the next F1 Superstar could be from Manchester”.
